Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request under its own terms and returns the result. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers may receive basic technical information when a page loads, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They help measure page use and show which content attracts or loses readers. Analytics providers may combine visits into general traffic reports. A browser can reject cookies, though doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
We do not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. The content identifies where Geneva County records are kept and how public requests reach the Circuit Clerk, courts, and Alabama search services. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Providers choose their retention and sharing practices, so review those terms before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Circuit Clerk, trial courts, Alabama case-search services, legal resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor leaves this domain, the destination's privacy rules control. Read them before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. We do not control that outside tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet system can guarantee perfect security, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may grant rights over personal data. Alabama court-record access is separately governed by Rules of Court-Record Privacy and Confidentiality, including the distinction between public and remote access. With respect to data we hold, you may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
